Marlene Kay Blagg's Obituary
Kay as she was known by family and her many close friends, sadly passed away on January 12, 2011.
Born in Parsons, Kansas, Kay went on to Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida.
Maybe it was indicative of Kay's, giving heart and her generous to a fault personality, Kay went on to attend nurses training at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.
While in nurses training Kay met a handsome, young Lt. in the Air Force, Harold D. Blagg (Hal).
Kay graduated as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1961 and soon thereafter she and Hal were married. As a military spouse she travelled with Hal throughout his career and worked as an RN at many bases where he was stationed. The last station was at McChord AFB in Tacoma, Washington. Here she worked at Madigan Army Hospital for 10 years and also at the VA Hospital in Lakewood.
Kay's love of her family always came first and her career as an RN defined her life as one who truly cared about other people.
Kay leaves behind her loving husband, Harold; sister Deborah; daughter Mary Lee; son Michael; and 3 grandchildren; Jacob, Dakota and Zoë.
There will be no memorial service at Kay's request. The family will say good bye to her at graveside in the Tahoma National Cemetery on January 21, 2011.
Just as Kay lived her life, she exited with grace and dignity.
