MARLENE JOY HALSETH
“GRAMMIE”
April 26, 1938 - March 16, 2018
MARLENE JOY HALSETH, age 79 of Tacoma began and ended her life at Tacoma General Hospital. She was born to Thomas & Olive (Brown) Thomas on April 26, 1938. Raised in Seattle and moved to Tacoma, when she married the love of her life, John A. Halseth on April 8, 1961. Marlene touched the lives of so many and was known as “Grammie” by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Halseth; parents, Thomas & Olive (Brown) Thomas; and her brother, Gary Thomas. She is survived by her children, Michael Halseth, Wendy (Dan) Mazzuca, Christine (Steven) Matzdorff, and Steve Simmons; 9 grandchildren – John, Dayne, Kira (Brandon), Ky (Davney), Nicole (Jesse), Lacey (Reid), Blake, Lindsey and Sienna; 4 great-grandchildren – Braelyn, Paxton, Kase and Jennica; nephew – Bill (Kathy); niece - Tara (Steve); Marlene touched the lives of each and every one she came in contact with. She was “Grammie” to so many. Please join us in honoring her and celebrating her life on Monday, March 26th at University Place Presbyterian Church, 2:00 pm., 8101 27th St. W. University Place, WA.
