Marjorie T. Todd's Obituary
Marjorie Theresa Todd "Marge", passed away on February 8, 2016 at the age of 91 after a brief illness. She was born on January 17, 1925 in Mountain View (Edgewood), Washington to Martin and Thora Leed. Marge was raised in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School. After graduation, she worked at Tacoma Boatbuilding and then American Optical Company. During World War II, she volunteered at the USO, which is how she met her husband, Larry. They had a busy life, raising their four children and being very involved with Messiah and then Gloria Dei Lutheran churches, and White Clover and Vida Chapters OES. Upon retirement, Marge and Larry traveled often; to visit family, to Norway, across the US, and to their favorite destination, Hawaii. Marge will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving and caring person with a mischievous sense of humor. The time spent with her family is what she loved best, and cooking or baking for them was one of her favorite things to do. Marge will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her parents, her five siblings, and her loving husband of 66 years, Larry. Marge is survived by her four children, Michael (Judy), Susan (Ivars), Kathryn (John), and Richard (Lisa); nine grandchildren, Corey (Rhonda), Melissa (Jason), Brett (Erin), Gregory (Michelle), Eric (Allison), Kevin (Skyler), Jayden, Carson, and Cameron; and twelve great-grandchildren, Lara, Lowen, Connor, Elijah, Landon, Kaia, Alexandra, Kasen, Augustine, Teegan, Bowen, and Asher.
Viewing will be on Saturday, February 13 from 12:00 Noon to 7:00 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd., Lakewood, Washington.
A memorial service for Marge will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 3315 S. 19th Street, Tacoma, Washington. A gathering will follow in the church social hall.
Donations in Marge's name may be made to Franciscan Hospice or to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
