Marjorie E. Reese's Obituary
Marjorie E Reese (French) born Dec. 16, 1938 passed away after a brief illness on Nov. 24, 2017. Margie was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. She attended Lincoln High School.
Margie was blessed with five girls, Lori (Mike) Buentemeier of Maple Valley, Vicki (Jim) Wood of Maple Valley, Patti (James) Doffing of Tacoma and Tami French (Randy Dedmon) of Bonney Lake. Mom is now reunited with Cheri who passed away as an infant.
Mom gained two additional girls after her sister Patricia Myers passed away Linda Myers and Shelly Myers were dearly loved by our mom. For us girls they are more our sisters than our cousins.
Moms pride and joy was the love of her three granddaughters Sarah (Kyle) Thomas of Bellingham, Karly Dedmon (Jacob) of Seattle and Breanne Buentemeier (Brian) of Fife. All held a very special place in their grandma's heart. There are no words to convey how much they will miss their grandma.
She was mom and dad to us girls for a lot of years. She taught us all too well how important a clean house is She was also our role model for working hard.
Marge always worked in the retail bakery business. Hanson Baking company stared it off. Safeway, Frisbees Bakery and Fred Meyer all benefited from my mom's work ethic. Mom even made a few wedding cakes for family. For years my mom was thrift store manager at the Gai's Bakery Outlet on Durango St. Lots of memories for some of us girls bagging bread on Saturdays just to hang out with her. Gai's is where she met her husband Roger Reese. After a few years of dating they married. This December would have been 28 years.
Mom and Roger did everything together. Early on it was playing league darts or just hanging out at the Green Pup. After they both retired their time was filled with day trips to Mt St. Helens or to a casino for lunch and a few hours of gambling. They had a Bounder motorhome that they took on bigger trips to Grayland Beach, Depoe Bay, and Lake Chelan. They logged 1 vacation that was the biggest of all. They left on Sept. 4, 1998 and returned home Nov. 7th. My mom has a detailed journal of this adventure but her last entry summed it up, "What A Trip!!!". For quite a few years they followed NASCAR on tv. Soon they were traveling to Pheonix to see the race in person. Whenever possible they would sneak in a trip to Reno or Laughlin.
Cooking and trying out new recipes was what they did at home. Mom made most of everything from scratch. Her lemon meringue pie was a work of art.
The Eagles Club #2933 was where they hung out, had a few drinks and mom played Bingo. They volunteered many hours together and did weekly dinners to contribute to the many causes of the club.
Mom loved flowers. There was usually a vase of them on the kitchen table. If they didn’t come from her yard, then they came from one of us girls.
Mom loved her fur-babies. Casey got to travel with them. After her passing, Bonnie and Clyde were the lucky ones. They were never too far away from mom. Spooky was the final lucky kitty who found mom and Roger, and they welcomed her to their home.
Mom oved her tv time. Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune were nightly rituals. This also included a bowl of ice cream or a chocolate bar. The Voice was also a must watch. She would tease us girls who tapped in because she wanted to share what happened so badly!
Mom loved hanging out with us and us with her. Whatever we did with her, it always included lunch and a glass white zin.
When marrying Roger, mom also gained a large extended family. 3 more girls, 1 son, and 7 more grandkids were added. She is also survived by Jeri (Peter) Kasal, Kim (Joe) Nadon, Craig (Sue) Reese, and Jana Drew. The grandkids – Emily Orozco, Dylan Kasal, Aaron Ackerman, Jack Kasal, Cardine Kasal, Madison Nadon, and Hannah Nadon. We love you mom and you are already missed so much.
