Marjorie Marie Johnson's Obituary
The fight for this spirited Irish is over, as she has gone to be with the Lord and the loved ones who've preceded her. It was a difficult battle near the end, and although we are glad that she is finally at peace, we will miss her terribly! Marjorie Marie Baker was born in Portland, Oregon July 7th, 1924. The family moved to Morton, Washington and eventually Tacoma, where she met the love of her life, John T. Johnson. They married April 18, 1944 and had a daughter, Gaige Collette, four years later. Marie was a member of the 8 & 40 club, American Legion, and the friendly "Huson Street Gang." In her days she played the saxophone, enjoyed golf, playing cards, and dancing. Those who knew her knew she had spirit! She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, and she was always willing to help. "Mamo" as known by her granddaughter, Regina, and the rest of the family was a very big part of who we are and how we do things. We learned much, laughed much, and enjoyed much life together. She is survived by her husband John, her daughter Gaige (Buddy) Williams, her granddaughter Regina (Dan) Gorden, and great-grandchildren Madison, Sienna, and Joriah. The family will have a viewing from 10 AM to 9 PM on Monday, August 9th. There will be a graveside service at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, August 10th, followed by a Celebration of Life Reception at noon. All events held at Mountain View Funeral Home.
