Marjorie Mae Bigelow's Obituary
Marjorie Mae Bigelow
Our mother, Marjorie M. Bigelow, passed away very suddenly in her sleep on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the age 76. She was born in Andover, South Dakota September 25, 1932, and moved to Tacoma, Washington with her family at the age of 10. She was a graduate of Stadium High School in the class of 1950, and was a 60+ year member of First United Methodist Church in Tacoma. She worked for the State of Washington for 40 years, retiring in 1992, and enjoyed many years of retirement travelling with friends. The last couple of years of her life her health deteriorated due to rheumatoid arthritis and she was home bound during the last months before her death. Her favorite things were cats, flowers, and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Rex and Emma McIntyre, her brother William, and her cat Cleo. She is survived by her two daughters, Machel Salado (Rome) of Puyallup, WA and Allyson Hudson (Ken) of Blaine, WA, and four grandchildren, Lisa, Sam, Ryan, Caleb and step-grandson Roman. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Brooks for the loving care of our mother for many years and her friends and neighbors who were so good to her. She treasured all of you. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations in her memory to the Tacoma-Pierce County Humane Society, as she so loved animals; especially kitties. Services will be at Mountain View Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 28, 2009 in the Garden Chapel.
