Marjorie Lou Coley
"Together Again at Last"
Born June 25, 1926 in South Bend Washington. Died peacefully on October 17, 2008 at Hospice House in University Place, WA, following a brave fight from cancer of the colon. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Ed Lane, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B. Nelson, sister Beatrice, and infant grandson, Jamie.
Marjorie leaves behind her "Best Friend" beloved daughter, Dorothy, of Lakewood, WA, son, Robert (Katherine), grandchildren, Chris and Katie Anne, her beloved brother James (Joanne), nephews, Gordon (Tonya), Dean (Nora) and family members all of Clatskanie, Oregon; cousins, Kay Rose of Cupertino, CA, Claudette Cadle (WC) of TX, Lou (Crista) of DE, plus numerous other relatives throughout the states.
Marjorie was a member of Daughters of Norway, Embla Lodge #2 and a lifetime member of South Bend WA Methodist Church.
She resided for 5 years at Manor Care, Tacoma, WA and was a well known and special lady to all. The Purple Lady was Manor Care's official Door Greeter of both staff and family visitors and touched all in a special way. Mom's smile and laughter was a beam of sunshine.
The family wished to extend their Thank You's for all of their kind support and care of Mom while at Manor Care. Especially, Sucki (Cookie), Gail U, Cindy, Nora, Annette, Connie, Erin, Ruthie, Clarrisea, Linda H., Edith, Jackie's, Janis, Monique, Max, Victoria, Tonya, Ron, Mom's Guardian Angel and many others Mom came in contact with on a daily basis. The list would go on and on. Mom loved you all.
Dorothy wishes to extend her Thank You for all of their support to "The Cous" Roddi (Bill) Barton, Janet (Henry) Nielsen, Annette McDonald, Gordy and Tonya, my "Bro" who assisted her in this emotional difficult time; prayers and concerns from my coworkers who were kept informed through our boss, Catherine; the ER staff of St. Clare Hospital; her physicians, who did her surgery and attended her in the ICU; all ICU staff at St. Clare Hospital, and the great support of Hospice House. Bless you all.
There is a memorial planned for Marjorie's life at Manor Care, 5601 South Orchard St, Tacoma, WA, on November 21st, Friday, 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for any remembrances to go to Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way W, University Place, WA, or the American Cancer Society.
The Purple Lady has left the building, but will remain in our hearts forever!
