Marion R. Brager's Obituary
Our Mom, Marion Brager, passed away, peacefully, in Tacoma on Feb. 22, 2010, at 91 years of age. She was born in Niagara, ND on Sept. 2, 1918, to George and Alpha Bjorge. She caught the eye of George R. Brager and they married Oct. 24, 1936, spending 58 years together until his death in 1994. Marion and George spent many years in Grand Forks, ND, raising their family before moving to Tacoma in 1966. She retired in 1983 after 17 years as a retail clerk in women's sportswear at The People's Dept. Store in Tacoma. Mom was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and proud of her accomplished voting record, receiving an award for 60+ years of continuous voting.
Preceded in death by her husband, George, one brother and three sisters, she is survived by her children, Joanne Maresh, Phoenix, AZ; Bud Brager (Rita) Tacoma; Jim Brager (Diana) Glendale, AZ, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister Edith Lenertz of Minnesota and brother-in-law Peter Brands of Tacoma.
The family cannot express enough their appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Kings Manor Senior Living Community for all their love and kindness. Interment will be Thurs. March 4 at 10:30 am at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, followed by a Celebration of Marion's life at 2:00 PM at Kings Manor, 8609 Portland Ave., Tacoma, WA 98445.
