Marion JoAnn Norris' Obituary
Marion JoAnn Norris, 85, of Puyallup passed away peacefully October 20, 2017. She was Born March 28, 1932 in Des Moines IA. JoAnn is survived her daughter Cindy Howard (John) of Lakewood, son Randy Norris (Kris) of Port Townsend, Shannon Lake (John) of Tacoma, Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert O Norris and her sister Kathy Aller. JoAnn graduated from Des Moines Technical School in Des Moines IA in 1950. It was in Des Moines on a blind date where she met the love of her life Robert O Norris. After a 3-month courtship, they married and began a 63-year journey together. She spent most of her life in the Puyallup area as a homemaker. As a young mother, she volunteered her time and served on the board of the Collins Tots club. She raised three children and her greatest joy was being an active part in her grandchildren’s lives as their Nana. She also loved traveling, history, exploring the outdoors and spending quality time with her family relaxing at her cottage home in Lilliwaup.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Young At Heart in University Place Washington for their exceptional care during her stay. Their love and dedication to what they do is much appreciated.
A celebration of life service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church the Parkland, Saturday October 28, 2017 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to University of Washington Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
