Marion Minor's Obituary
Marion J. Minor
1920 - 2008
Marion Minor died on December 8 after a prolonged illness at home surrounded by children and grandchildren. She joins her husband of 42 years, David Minor who passed away in 1984. Due to his military career, they traveled extensively in the US and Europe. After David retired from the Army, they raised their eight children in Lakewood where Marion was an active part of the community for 50 years. Besides her role as matriarch to a large and growing family, she was active in the Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister for hospital patients. She delighted many people with her Toastmistress competitions and as an actor with Lakewood's Senior Players. She was always up for a game of Bingo, cards, and a getaway to Las Vegas with her brother and sister from New Jersey. Marion is also preceded in death by her mother and father, Bertha and James Ritchey, her brother James Ritchey II, her sister Maureen Michola and her daughter Martha Minor. She is survived by her sister Gloria Caravello, sons John, David, Joseph and Vincent Minor, daughters Dorothy Jackson, Mary Minor and Judith Flores, 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be on December 13th at St. Frances Cabrini Church at 11:00 am. The family thanks everyone who helped during this difficult year.
