Marion Killion's Obituary
Marion Killion was born in Dortmund, Germany on November 16, 1942. Revered for her humility and gift of hospitality, Marion also had a fighting spirit and a fiercely protective nature which made her the monarch of her family. She will be greatly missed.
Marion's early years were spent in Aachen, Germany, where she endured the effects of WWII. At age 16, she and her younger sister moved to the U.S. after being adopted by a staff sergeant in the 442nd who married their mother. The family drove west cross-country via Route 66 and ultimately settled in Lakewood, WA. She taught herself English by reading comic books and watching I Love Lucy tv shows. Marion attended Clover Park High School and met the love of her life, Larry.
The couple married in 1962 and raised their family in Seattle, WA, Clarksville, TN, and Tacoma, WA. Marion became a proud U.S. citizen in June of 1981. Throughout her life, Marion was a homemaker and pastor’s wife. She was an incredibly skilled seamstress, and she resourcefully supported her family by sewing, painting murals, and decorating cakes. Her “McGyver-style” home repairs were a force to be reckoned with as were her stellar orchids that she loved to grow. She loved her family, good food, and Kauai.
Marion went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2026 at age 83. Her surviving relatives are two beloved daughters and their spouses, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Other survivors are her sister, three brothers, and extended family and friends whom she cherished. Marion’s testimony and love for her Lord and Savior served as a witness for generations of her family and others. Heaven is a little bit brighter with her presence.
Marion will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery alongside her husband Larry. In honor of her privacy, no public funeral service will be held.
