Marion Eugene Brazell's Obituary
After having fought bravely the diseases that weakened his body, Marion Eugene Â"GeneÂ" Â"ButchÂ" Brazell passed peacefully on October 17, 2004, surrounded by his family, at Madigan Army Medical Center.Gene was born on January 4, 1943 in Barnwell, South Carolina to Earl Brazell and Mary Tyler Brazell Rager. At the age of six he moved to California with his family. In Susanville he met Kathleen Graham; they were married on February 23, 1963.Gene served honorably in the U.S. Army for 27 years. During that time, Gene, Kathie and their three children made their home in many places including Okinawa, Germany, California, Maryland and Panama. In 1988 he retired from the Army.During their travels Gene became active in scouting; he served as a Cub Master, a Scout Master, and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. Gene also provided support to the Girl Scouts whenever they asked; he was most fond of helping the Girl Scouts dispose of many boxes of Thin Mints.From 1988 Â- 2004 Gene proudly worked for Boeing.Gene was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father Charles Rager, sister Sally Brazelle Campbell, and brother Robert Brazelle. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years; his children, Jane, Rodney (Heather), and Cynthia Flint; his four beautiful grandchildren Robert, Christopher and Daniel Flint, and Rebecca Brazell; his brother Tommy Lee Brazelle; and numerous friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2004, from 12:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2004 at Mountain View Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in GeneÂ's name to the Pacific Harbors Boy Scout Council and/or Pacific Peaks Girl Scout Council.
