Marilyn Louise Tank's Obituary
Marilyn Louise Tank peacefully went to be with her Lord February 20, 2018, at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, WA. She caught the flu in January and was unable to recover due to underlying health issues. She left her family and friends much too soon.
Marilyn was born to Claude and Helen (Billie) Scott on September 8, 1949, and lived in Tacoma most of her life. Growing up she enjoyed family picnics and vacations at the ocean.
She raised her son Scott while living in several Washington State Parks as a park ranger's wife. She had a special heart for animals from rabbits to a pet pig, cats and dogs. A trip to Yellowstone and a Montana cattle drive was a special adventure with her sister.
Marilyn married Dennis Tank in 1995 and she worked in the office of Manke Lumber for 18 years. She and Dennis enjoyed camping in the beautiful northwest. She made many friends and acquaintances "over the fence" as people walked their dogs in the neighborhood, and she rescued 10-20 lost neighborhood dogs and reunited them with their owners. She and Dennis enjoyed taking their dogs to the dog park and she made more great friends there. She was kind and patient and deeply loved by her family. She had a lively sense of humor that drew people to her and was always ready with a funny story. She especially loved spending time with her grandson, Andrew.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Dennis Tank, her son Scott Boman, daughter-in-law Barbara Boman, grandson Andrew Boman and sister Rosie Watne.
She asked for a small family gathering in lieu of a memorial service. She requested that any donations be made to the Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County.
