Marilyn J Campbell's Obituary
Marilyn Joy Campbell passed from this life on April 3, 2020 at Mt Baker Care Center in Bellingham, Washington at age 85. She was born June 6, 1934 at Valley Hospital in Puyallup, Washington as the oldest child of Orvel E. and Dorothy L. Fox. She spent most of her childhood in the Tacoma area, graduating from Fife High School in 1952.
She was previously married to the late Albert Lee Davis and together they had four children. While raising their children separately she worked as a bookkeeper.
On September 18, 1965 she married Phillip Dean Campbell, whom she had known from the Roosevelt Heights area and together they raised their blended family of 7 children. She went on to graduate from Pacific Lutheran University with a bachelor’s degree in education and retired from the Fife School District in 1995 as a fifth grade teacher.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She also enjoyed crafting, reading, playing the piano and cruising to several places, England, Ireland, Russia, Greece, Turkey, Panama and Alaska. She spent time at various national treasures in the continental Unites States feeding her interest in the history of our country.
She was preceded in death by her husband Phil, parents Orvel and Dorothy, sisters Barbara and Susan, brother Monty, daughter-in-law Michelle, step-son David and son Larry.
She is survived by her daughter Robin (David) Hoff of Sun City, AZ, daughter Lesa (Jim) Paull of Boise, ID, son Gary Davis of Bellingham, WA, step-daughter Lorrie (Mike) Crim of Sequim, WA, step-daughter Beth Edwards of Puyallup, WA and step-son Joe (Kelly) Campbell of Puyallup, WA. Grandchildren include Phil Foster, Katy Boucher, Becca Rodriguez, Sadie Davis, Brian, Joey & Lindsey Edwards, Cindi Crum, Jason Benedict, Carly Rasmussen and Breanna Elliott. She has 17 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Cremation has taken place under the auspices of Mt. View Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Lakewood, WA. A celebration of life memorial service will take place in late summer or early fall. If one wishes they may donate to The American Cancer Society or a charity of their choice in her name.
