Marilyn Brake's Obituary
Marilyn J. Brake (born June 18, 1932 in Tacoma, Washington) passed into eternal heavenly life on July 21, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Marilyn grew up in the Tacoma and Seattle area where she graduated from high school in Seattle. She went on to work various jobs and eventually retired from the banking industry in 1993. She married her soul mate Eddie Brake on June 14, 1957. They lived in many places around the country and raised a family during his career service in the US Army. They eventually settled and retired in Lakewood, Wa. Marilyn was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, relative, and friend. She deeply cherished and loved her family. She had an amazing infectious smile and was a kind and caring person to everyone she had befriended.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and close relatives. She leaves behind her daughter Susan (Dick) Cady, sons Michael and Randy (Ritajo) Brake, grandchildren: Sarah (David) Griffiths, Erik (Genelle) Willanger, Stein (Tiffany) Willanger, Ashley Brake, Ryan Brake, Laura Brake and six great grandchildren.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Sunday, August 6th at 1:00pm. Services will be had at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom BLVD SW, Lakewood, WA, 98499. In-lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
