Marilyn Adele Heinz's Obituary
Marilyn Adele Heinz was born May 15, 1937 in Mt. Vernon, WA to Ferne and Arthur County. Surrounded by her family, she went to be with Jesus on March 10, 2010. Mom grew up in south Tacoma and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955. When she was 15 years old she met the love of her life, our dad Curt. The story goes that our Nana and Grandpa weren't too excited to see her ride off on the back of the leather jacketed 18 year old's motorcycle, but it didn't take long for them to love him too. They married in July of 1955 and started a family of their own. Mom's legacy continues on. Wife to Curt Heinz, Mom to Mike (Margie), Lori Fraizer (John), Michele Carpenter (Steve), and Kim Arnone (DJ), Nana to Jaimee (Scott), Lindsay (Marcus), Kirstyn, Michael, Curtis, Karissa, Kiera, Nick, Taylor, Ben, Luke, Jake, Emma, Mackenzie and Kamdyn. Aunt to her very special nephews Rick Coovert (Wendy), their sons Chris (Kristin) and Craig (Katrina), Don Coovert Jr., the entire Fraizer family and Judy Rae Jasprica.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eldora Coovert and nephew Don Coovert. Mom had many jobs over the years, however, her favorite was staying home to take care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The door was always open for our many friends who considered her their second mom. Always there to listen for anyone who needed her, the support and love she gave was unconditional. In 1980 Mom and Dad purchased Anglea's Restaurant in Tacoma which they owned for 11 years before retiring. It was there that she met and made many good friends. They were fortunate in their later years to travel abroad to Africa and Europe. She had many happy memories from those trips and the several others that they took together. In 2005 we celebrated Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise party. Mom was very happy to share that special day with all of the family and friends who meant so much to her. Besides spending her time with family, she especially enjoyed her lunch dates with her best girlfriends Carol, Darlene, Terry, Pat and Susie. Rest peacefully. We will all be together again one day. All our love forever.
Services will be held at Mt. View Funeral Home on Thursday, March 18, 2010, 11:00 AM in the Celebration of Life Aspen Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made in Mom's name to: Franciscan Foundation; PO Box 1502; Tacoma, WA 98401. Please note that it is for Pulmonary Research. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's hospital for the loving care Mom received., especially Dr. Rai and the Research Team.
