Marie A. Pedee's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful and wonderful mother, Marie Ann Pedee at the age of 89, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on November 4, 2013. Mom was born on January 23, 1924 in Aberdeen, SD to Steven and Rosa Miller, mom was the 2nd oldest of 10 kids. The family moved to Tacoma in 1941. Mom graduated from St. Leo’s High School in 1942. She went to work at Pacific NW Bell where she met her future husband, Emil Pedee. They were married on July 18, 1947. They had 3 children, Lynne, David and Jeanene. Mom was preceded in death by husband, Emil, her parents, sisters, Teresa, Cecilia, Julia, Milly, and brothers Mike and Chuck.
Mom is survived by daughter, Lynne (Gerry), Jeanene, son David (Michelle McKendric), grandson Mike (Michele) and granddaughter Lisa; sisters, Bobbie (Phil) and Rita (Dale), brother Joe (Pat); sister-in-law, Freda Craig, cousin Agnes Benson and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the staff at People’s Special Care Unit for the wonderful care they gave mom for many years and Franciscan Hospice for their wonderful care also. Mom will be greatly missed by all who know and loved her. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity or the Alzheimer’s Association.
