Marie A. Miller's Obituary
Marie A. Miller
nee Walters
A lady of grace has left us. After years of enduring the progression of dementia, on January 29, 2016, Marie died peacefully at home with her caregiving daughter, Joan, beside her.
Marie was born June 15, 1912 to Frank and Gertrude Walters, Midland, the second of nine children.
In 1931 she met and married Carl K. Miller (1905-1985) and had 3 children, Larry (Eleanor) Joan (David) Sager and Doris (1943-1945). Carl’s construction work kept them moving in WA, OR, and CA. Retirement brought them back to Marie’s home, parents and family in 1967.
Marie loved having family gatherings big or small and she was able to renew some childhood friendships. She enjoyed people, was thoughtful, kind and wise and no one went hungry in her home. In later years she especially enjoyed weekly care games with her sisters.
Marie also took pride in grandsons, Kevin (Peggy) and Lance (Kannon) Miller, her six grandchildren, Kayla, Kyler, Jalen, McKenna, Clayne, Carsyn, and great grandchild Kaden as well as many nieces and nephews.
Surviving sisters are Irma Nordine and Lila Richmond. Preceding were brother Elmer Walters and sisters Verna Garrett, Edna Schomburg, Grace Wilson and Vina Strachan.
She was laid to rest next to Carl at Mountain View Memorial Park with no services. A remembrance gathering will follow later.
