Marie McGee's Obituary
Marie McGee was born on November 1st, 1933, to Albin & Marie Eckert in Sellnits, Czechoslovakia. She was one of three children. She passed away on the evening of October 6th, 2024, in Tacoma, Washington to join her husband and grandson, TC Hill, in heaven. She met her husband, James L. McGee Sr. in Germany. He was in the United States Army stationed in Germany. They were married in Vancouver, Canada on January 31st, 1958, and were married for 53 years prior to his passing. After being married, Marie moved to the United States where she and James, her husband, settled down in Tacoma and she became a seamstress at Days. After a few years at her seamstress position, she hired on at Boeing where she quickly showed her talents as a seamstress, a leader and supervisor of her team. She had the opportunity to work on many of the planes that would be delivered to some of the world dignitaries. In addition, Marie became a naturalized citizen on April 10th, 1967, while working full time and raising a family. Marie was well known for her cooking and baking skills. She loved to collect crystal, fine China, and silver sets. Marie retired in 1994, where she continued to enjoy her life with her husband, daughter, son, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her daughter; Laresa, son; James Jr., grandchildren; Freda, Brittany, and Jordan, great grandkids; Carson, Brayden, Austin, and Elizabeth-Marie. Marie was a special lady that we will all miss but we will never forget her sparkling eyes and smile as she filled our hearts with joy and our tummies with delicious treats. She was one of a kind.
