Marianne Gordon's Obituary
Born Feb, 15, 1939 in Augsburg Germany, Marianne was the youngest of 3 children born to Josef and Maria Enderle. She met Albert C Gordon a US. Army soldier and Tennessee native while stationed in Germany in 1959. They were married on July 5th 1960 and moved to Tacoma, WA in 1961 where they raised four children.
In 1974, they moved to Lakewood and soon purchased land in Roy, WA where they would commute to raise cattle. Initially against the idea, it soon became a life focus for her. Marianne was always very fond of animals. She was known to rescue and care for them both domestic and wild. As a child, she once rescued an orphan baby deer, bottle fed it and kept it as a pet much to her parents (and mailman’s....!) chagrin. She once rescued an owl who was hit by a car, cared for it until it could be turned back into the wild. She bottle fed and tamed some abandoned baby squirrels as well as a calf who’s mother died giving birth. She became very attached to this calf who became known as “Rambo” and it would soon become her pet rather than an auction item, once again raising the ire of her husband.
Though animals and their care seemed to be Marianne’s passion, her true calling was to be a proud and loving presence to her children and grandchildren.
Marianne was preceded in death by her husband Albert C Gordon, siblings, Josef Enderle Jr and Mathilda (Suzy) Giddings.
Survived by children, Albert C Gordon Jr., Diana J Graves, Patricia Gordon, Sandi K Yotz, and grandchildren Albert Curt Gordon III, Ashley Gordon, Nathan Gordon, Ginger Yotz and Great-grandchild Arya Jane Turpin.
Marianne lived a life happily dedicated to her family and her animals and we will miss her dearly as she passes from this life into the next. Celebration of life will be held 11:00 Friday, April 27 in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View.
