Marianne was my daughter, Erika's 3rd grade teacher at Discovery in 1988-89. I always enjoyed visiting with Marianne, and listening to her "dog" stories. I lived down the street from her brother, Mike (Otis), and just this summer moved to Littleton Colorado. After the '88-'89 school year, Marianne made me a needlepoint "thank-you". That was very special to me, as I thought you were supposed to give teachers "thank you"'s instead of the other way around! Please accept my sympathy for the loss of a truly special and caring person!

I was saddened to hear of Marianne's death. She had been in my thoughts recently and I had wanted to get in touch with her. I regret that I did not. I remember the times we decorated her Christmas tree, rode in her Porsche, played cards, etc. We shared some great times. It sounds like she continued her life doing the things she loved: singing, working with children and being involved.
I am scheduled for jury duty on Monday, but if I can I will make the service.

We were shocked to hear of Marianne's utimely passing--we worked with her in "The Music Man" in Gig Harbor many years ago--and every time we saw her after that she remembered our family, and we talked.
