Maria Cacilia Parks' Obituary
Maria Cacilia Parks (Blount) was born in Faulbach, Germany on July 15th, 1959, and passed away in the comfort of her daughter’s home on April 8th, 2020, after a long time battle with liver failure.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dennis R Parks (1988), her mother Else H Blount (2003), and her sister, Reinhilde Sandoval (2019). She leaves behind her two adult children, daughter, Jennifer L Bergstrom, and her son, Matthew L Flohr, her two grandsons, Jayden and Anthony, her father Charles Blount, her ex-husband Marty Bergstrom, her two youngest sisters, Suzann Blount, and Elsie Bleifuss, along with many nieces and nephews.
Maria moved from Germany to the United States with her mother, father and sisters when she was 5 years, old and grew up on the north end of Tacoma, attending both Truman Middle School, and Wilson High School. She worked many years as a cashier at the Tacoma Stevens Fred Meyers before taking several years off to raise her children. Maria entered back into the work force as a substitute teacher and finally as a bus driver for Tacoma Public Schools prior to medically retiring due to her declining health.
Maria had a passion for flowers and gardening and loved Harley’s. She developed many long lasting friendships over the years that she held very dear to her heart (Stacy, Terry, Yvette, Jeff R.).
Celebration of life for Maria will be held Saturday July 25th, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Steilacoom, WA. Please contact family for further details.
