Maria J. Ladd's Obituary
Maria J. Ladd was born June 20, 1941 and passed away peacefully at home, after a long battle with stomach cancer on May 15, 2004. Born to Jose and Carmen Oros in Sonora, Mexico, she moved to Douglas, AZ when she was 10. She became a US citizen on May 22, 1961 and that was one of the best days of her life. Maria was a Girl Scout leader for many years in the 70Â's. She also worked at Baskin-Robbins for fun in the late 80Â's. Everyone called her Â"MomÂ". Maria was a resident of Tillicum for over 40 years. She was a member of TWNA and often helped out at the Tillicum Community Center. She loved gardening, scrapbooking, bingo, and the Mariners. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, and her son Frank. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 43 years, Robert; her 3 daughters, Cindy (Adam) Worden, Janina (Joseph) Patterson, and Roberta Ladd and her fiancé, Eric Goranson; her 5 beautiful grandchildren, Elizabeth, Natasha, Marina, Frankie, and Bobbi; her cousins, Alberto (Nellie) Langston and Mary (Walter) Daye; her Â"sonÂ" Tom (Amy) Apelar, her Â"daughterÂ" Stephanie (Mike) Johnson, and her best friend, Peggy Statham. She will be greatly missed by family and friends too numerous to list.The family would like to thank: Dr. Baker, Dr. Duras and the staff at St. Clare Hospital, Dr. Mann and the staff at the UWMC, the Franciscan Hospice Team for the excellent care given to Mom, Stephanie Johnson for being there for the last days of her life, and the many people who prayed constantly for Mom.Services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 1pm in the Mt. View Celebration of Life Building.
