Maria Rachel Inselman
August 25, 1944 - July 26, 2013
Maria went to her Lord and Savior while in the presence of her immediate family. She was born in Stewartville, Minnesota, to Franklin and Rachel Warren. She is survived by John, her husband of 42 years, son Christopher (Tammy) Inselman, Puyallup WA, her daughter Laura (Jayson) Godden, Silverdale WA, and grandchildren Joshua, Sydney, Jacob, Timothy, Rachel, and Kenneth. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Amelia. She was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, and "Nana". She loved music, art, sewing, quilting, knitting, embroidering, and was active in her church. A graduate of Winona State College (Minnesota), she was trained as an elementary and music teacher. She was teaching elementary music in St. Cloud, Minnesota, when she met John. Maria followed him around the country and to Germany during his Army career. During that time she was the strong bedrock for the family. When he retired she worked in the property management accounting field and gave loving support to John's real estate career. She will be missed by so many people in the Steilacoom and Lakewood area. She is dearly missed by her family. The family would like to thank all who supported and prayed for her during her short, but terrible, battle with cancer. They would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and other staff at St. Clare's Hospital for the compassion and care they provided. The family is planning a Visitation at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood on Friday, Aug 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Aug 3rd at 10:30 AM at Lakewood Lutheran Church. Burial will follow on Monday at the Mount Tahoma National Cemetery. Remembrance donations can be made in her name to Lakewood Lutheran School, 10202 112th St SW, Lakewood, WA 98498.
