Maria C. Havens' Obituary
She was born October 9, 1945 the 3rd of 5 daughters to Hoon Yi Jung and Kang Rae Lee in Chung Buk Korea. She met her future husband Donald Havens while working at the Camp Coiner Theater in Seoul Korea. She accompanied him to the US and were married on November 10, 1973, in Hastings From there they went to Dugway Utah where Donald was stationed from November 1973 to April 1975 when they returned to Korea where they were stationed at the 121 Hospital/MedCom K until November 1979 when they returned to the US and were stationed at Fort Hood TX until October 1982 when they were re-assigned to Kitzingen Germany where they were stationed until November 1986. While there she worked for the AAFES where she managed a standalone snack bar (called the Doghouse) and received several accolades for her work and leadership abilities. From there they returned to Utah where they were stationed with the Salt Lake City Recruiting Battalion until May 1990 when they returned to Korea where Donald was stationed with the 1st Tank Battalion Camp Casey Korea until June 1991 when he returned and was stationed with the 513th Transportation Company Fort Lewis Washington where he retired from on May 29th, 1992, after 21 Years of Military Service. After retirement they purchased their present home in Lakewood, Washington. she began working for McDonalds where she worked for 10 years before giving up working and concentrate more on her love of Church and Music. She began singing in three (3) Choirs the 5:00 Saturday and 9:00 Sunday at St. John Bosco and the 11:00 at the Korean Parish St. Paul Chong Hasang in Fife. She was also a member of the Legion of Mary at the Korean Parish. She also was a member of the McNeil Island ministry choir for several years.
She was preceded in death by her father Hoon Yi Jung, her mother Kang Rae Lee a brother Ji Joo Jung. She is survived by her husband Donald R. Havens Sr., an estranged son Donald R. Havens Jr., a daughter Marry Ann Havens, four sisters Ji Soon, Ji Hwa, Ji Sook, and Ji Hyang all of Korea as well as two brothers Ji Hwan and Ji Mong also of Korea. Her nephew Young Hun Kim his wife Eun Seon two daughters Hanah and Janice all of Snoqualmie. A niece Young Ha of Korea as well as several other Nieces of Korea and Hungary.
