Maria Gour's Obituary
Maria Gour, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, passed from this life on 10/22/2010 after a long illness. Born 2/14/1922, the oldest child of Blasius and Maria (Frueholz) Messmer, Maria grew up in Lenggries, Germany. She moved to America after marrying her husband of 56 years, George, eventually settling in Lakewood where they raised three children.
Later in life Maria returned to school to learn computer programming and had a rewarding career in that field before turning her efforts to teaching, which she embraced with the same passion. She finished her career teaching programming at Clover Park Technical College.
Maria was preceded in death by George and is survived by daughter, Christy, sons Mike and Andy, daughter-in-law, Robin, and granddaughters, Lainey, Kendall and Alicia, and grandson, Tyler.
