It is with great sorrow that we say good bye to our beloved Marguerite. With her family gathered together, Marguerite was suddenly taken from this world to begin her journey to Heaven. Marguerite was born in Eveleth, Minnesota to Florence and Myles Furlong. After her father's death, and her graduation from Hibbing High School, she and her family moved to Tacoma, where she met and married Jim Attebery. Together, they built their first of many homes in Lakewood. Marguerite was a stay at home mother while raising her three children. When her children were all in school, Marguerite joined the work force, in real estate then went into banking and retired as a branch manager for what is now Bank of America. Her retirement years meant spending incredibly special time with her cherished children, Lynda Hamilton, Lyle Attebery, Leslie Attebery (Chuck Bock) and grandchildren: Michelle Robinette (Jeff), Carrie Casey (Joe), James and Jared Attebery, Madison Phipps (Ron) and MacKenzie Attebery Bock. It didn't stop there, however, as she was blessed with and thoroughly enjoyed her great grandchildren: Joey and McKenna Casey, Max, Jack, and Nick Robinette and her last "Precious" Phoenix Phipps. She will be deeply missed by all of her family, including her brother Richard Furlong (Pat), her sister Elaine Erchul (Frank) and their families including many nieces and nephews. Marguerite had many life long friends and in the past several years met and enjoyed many new friends. Most will remember an elegant "pretty in pink" lady, who was so gracious. She had a contagious smile matched by her excellent sense of humor and a very caring personality. She leaves behind an enormous void that will never be filled. Heartfelt thanks go to the wonderfully caring people at Tacoma General Hospital. A memorial service will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church, Monday, July 13, 2009, 1:00 PM, which will be followed by a celebration of Marguerite's life at the Lakewood Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marguerite's name to Caring For Kids 6132 Motor Avenue SW Suite W-1 Lakewood, WA 98499. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252.
