Margie Ann Ewing-Watts' Obituary
Margie Ann Ewing-Watts (nee MacLaine), aged 91, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, in Tacoma, WA. Born on May 16, 1933, Margie lived a full life marked by devotion to her family and a passion for the simple joys of life.
Margie was known for her sweet, kind nature, quick wit and a smile that could light up any room. She was fiercely loving and protective of her family, sparing no effort to ensure the success of her children in the world. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the lights of her life, bringing immense joy and laughter to her days. Margie's loyalty to her closest friends was unwavering, lasting throughout her lifetime.
She attended Lincoln High School in Tacoma, WA and furthered her education at Clover Park Vocational-Technical Institute in Lakewood, WA. Margie began her career packing fruit at Valley Packers in Puyallup, WA, during her summers as a young adult. She later joined US Computers as a Keypunch Operator, eventually supervising the Mail Department before retiring after 20 years with the company.
Margie's first love was gardening, evident in the parklike setting of her home's beautiful gardens. She also enjoyed crocheting, creating cozy and colorful blankets and throws for each family member. Traveling often with her husband, she cherished visits to her favorite destinations; the Desert Southwest, California, and the Oregon Coast.
Margie leaves behind a loving family: her son Donald Ewing (Barbara), daughter Cynthia Parkinson (Charles), son Brian Ewing (Kathy), grandchildren Jennifer Parkinson (James), Travis Clark (Jennifer), Lindsey Parkinson, Danni Ewing, and great-grandchildren Charles, Lewis and Kathryn Parkinson and Mallory Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents Duncan and Harriett MacLaine, sister Nancy MacLaine Ewing, husbands Donald Ewing and Donald Watts, and grandson Shaun Parkinson.
In keeping with her wishes, Margie will be remembered in a private family remembrance to honor her life and legacy.
