Mom, here we are today. It all began 84 years ago in Europe. As a young girl you were called upon to help keep your family united in a Europe torn by war. You were strong and helped your family in the post war relocation camps in the worst of conditions. Then, you met Bill, an American GI and started your own family. You endured the life of a housewife to an American soldier who was away many times. Your children grew up, your son, Jerry, to continue the family name and your daughters, Shirley and Carolyn to continue the family bloodline. I married Shirley and became a part of this great family. Yes Mom, your children and all of your extended family are here today. We are here to celebrate your amazing life and will miss you greatly!! Also, Thank you for helping the Hawks win on Sunday!!

I remember you would always share with me the delicious Eierlikör and brandy filled chocolates that you would get from Germany around Christmas time every year. You were always such a wonderful host and the best Oma to Michelle and Ur Oma to Nichole. My condolences to the entire Marks family and all who knew you. I am smiling thinking that you have been reunited with Opa after all these years. Ruhe in Frieden.

Home made christmas cookies, countless different cakes and pastries, sauerbraten, cauliflower soup, cucumber salad, just a few things among many that will never taste the same, No more quick visits no more bingo trips, no more thumb flicks for good luck, no more teases, no more cute nicknames because I didn't share my candy when I was little. No more hugs and Kisses. Just a few things I am gonna miss about you. Love, honesty, compassion, thoughtfulness, reliability, dignity, family, charity, wisdom, just a few of the things you taught me that will be me forever to pass on to my children, and future generations.
