Margaret "Meg" Eileen Mahaney's Obituary
Margaret “Meg” Eileen Mahaney, 66, passed away on Thursday, 26th June 2025 in Tacoma, Washington.
Meg was born in Norwich, Connecticut, on 14th June 1959 to Barbara (Dziomba) and William O’Hearn, Sr. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, aunt, sister and grandmother.
Meg attended Norwich Free Academy for high school in Norwich, Connecticut. She graduated in 1977. She wed Al Mahaney on the 8th of December 1985 and relocated to Washington. Before going to work as a comptroller for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for over 35 years where she held various certifications throughout her career.
Meg is survived by her mother, Barbara O’Hearn, husband, Al Mahaney, her daughter Amy Newton, son-in-law, Tyler Newton, her granddaughters Madison and Ellenora and her sister, Kathleen Pepin and brother-in-law Theodore Pepin Jr. She also has numerous nephews, family and friends in Washington and New England. She was predeceased by her brother, William Stephen O’Hearn Jr., her sister-in-law, Karen O’Hearn and her father, William O’Hearn Sr.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on 23rd of August 2025 at the Lakewood Firefighters Union Hall 7125 Steilacoom Blvd. SW in Lakewood, Washington at 2:00pm.
