Margaret Caroline Liebelt's Obituary
Margaret Caroline Liebelt passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 in North Carolina. She was 88 years old.
She was born in Tacoma, Washington on July 12, 1928 to Louis and Inez Smith. She had many life-long friends from the neighborhood.
She married Arlo Clayton Liebelt on December 2, 1950. They lived and raised their 5 children in Tacoma, enjoying the outdoors of the beautiful Pacific Northwest with picnicking and camping until his death in 1970.
In 1980, she and her youngest son, Kevin, moved to North Carolina to be with her daughters and the grandchildren to come.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and mom. Her children were her everything. She also enjoyed gardening and sewing, reading and crossword puzzles. She loved playing card games with her friends and her children, and she usually won. Music and dancing delighted her heart, especially to Polka music.
Margaret will be remembered for her unconditional love, and her patience and her love for her Savior Jesus Christ. She was adored by everyone who met her. She always encouraged everyone to be their best, to be strong, and put it all in God’s hands.
Besides her parents and her beloved husband she was preceded in death by her daughter Cindy and her son Leroy. She is survived by her sons Dennis (Evette) and Kevin (Rose) and daughter Sandy, 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; her brother Arne (Roberta) Smith of Puyallup, Washington and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held in Cary, North Carolina at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 200 S. E. Maynard Rd. Cary, N.C. on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 1 pm. She will have a memorial service and be interred with her beloved husband Arlo, whom she has lived without for 47 years, at Mountain View Funeral Home 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W. Lakewood, Washington on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Glenn Obenberger officiating.
