Margaret L. Jaskoski's Obituary
Margaret L. Jaskoski was born in Salem, Oregon in May 1932. She is predeceased by her four siblings: brothers- Phillip, Frank, and Richard Jaskoski, and sister- Patricia Iwen; as well as by her dear friend, Val Kraemer, with whom she shared a home for many years.
Margaret is survived by her sister-in-law, Sheryl Jaskoski, and her eleven nieces and nephews. After graduating from Sacred Heart Nursing School in Eugene, Oregon. Margaret spent her career as an Army nurse, stationed in Virginia, Vietnam, Germany, Hawaii, Arizona, and Washington state, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. After retiring from the Army, she traveled extensively and settled in the Tacoma area where she and Val maintained a beautiful home and garden; both were gifted artists.
After Val's death, Margaret moved to Lacey. A lover of dogs, several lucky canines shared Margaret and Val's homes over the years. Margaret was an independent and strong woman who was generous with her time, money and artistic talents. She hosted a foreign exchange student, did volunteer work, and contributed to various charities to help people in need. She was especially generous to her nieces and nephews, taking them on trips to places they would not have seen otherwise, as well as gifting them treasures from her travels around the world. Margaret was very much loved and will be very much missed.
The family of Margaret plans to have a private Celebration of Life in Salem, Oregon to honor Margaret's life well lived.
