MARGARET ELLEN HANSON
Beloved matriarch Margaret (Peggy) Ellen Hanson of Tacoma, passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2016. Born in Iowa on June 2nd, 1930, Peggy was a retired GSA Technical Services Contract manager. She began her career as an early pioneer in software engineering competing for positions in the corporate workplace traditionally only held by men. In retirement Peggy joined local dance clubs participating as an avid country western competition dancer. Those who loved this redhead of Irish roots will miss her gentle heart and fiery spirit. Peggy is preceded by in death by her mother, Margaret Loretta Haynes, and sister, Martha Randles who now hold her in their loving arms in heaven. She is survived by her son James Mitchell Hanson, daughter Katherine Hanson-Eklund (husband Wes), granddaughters Lauren Margaret Eklund & Jessica Christian Fannan (husband Michael) and great-granddaughter Kerrigan Bailey Fannan. There will be a celebration of life on March 4th - Open House from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at 924 North K Street in Tacoma.
