Margaret Hammerstrom Brukett

My mother, Georgie CLOUD Barrett, and her sisters spoke fondly of their friends the Hammerstroms. Alice was born in 1907, Ruth 1908, Margie 1910, Georgie 1912. The family moved to Tacoma from Oklahoma and attended 1st Baptist Church and lived on Monroe St. Mom was the longest survivor and passed away five years ago in Tacoma. All but Alice are buried at Mt. View. They all attended Stadium High School. They were nice ladies and I wish they'd been able to keep in touch with your family whom they cared so much about. Dear JoAnn, Your beloved mother was a very special part of my sister's and my growing up years on Forest Beach. She was a wonderful mom, always ready to serve tea and cookies to occasionally rowdy girls. I think she was trying to instill some ladylike behavior in us!! She will be very missed, but will live on in the memories of so many people whose lives she touched. God's Blessings to her and peace and blessings to you.
