Marcus William Hale,'s Obituary
In a voice strong and steady,Bill insisted, ,"I,'m not ready!!,"Failing to reschedule that fateful day,7/21/07 (with wife at his side),he just gave up and quietly passed away.In 3/10/33Bill joined the Hale family,Mom and Dad (Dorothy and Mark)Sister Nancy, added spark.13 years later, younger brother TerryRounded out the family tree.To a certain degree,They seemed to live in close harmony.Bill had a bout with the boxing game.Sparring with friend, Pat McMurtry, was his main claim to fame.He joined the Marines at sixteen,Due to Mom,'s influence, combat was never seen.After he graduated Lincoln High, jobs were many and varied.Started working for Woodworth shortly before he married,Worked for Woodworth for 40 plus years.(Stopped after work and had a few beers.)Paving foreman in charge of large crews,Made good wages, paid his union dues.By night he paved the Narrows Bridge (twice).His overtime filled up the fridge,And his pockets (nice).Played golf most weekends,Foursomes made up of good friends.When his body wouldn,'t allow him to play,It was a very, very sad day.As an adult, things he learned to love,...Golf (shot in the low 70,'s), old movies, Hawaii,The Grand Canyon, Reno, gambling at the ,"Boat,", vodka tonics.All the above!He wasn,'t much of a family man, per se,He,'d admit that if he were here today.But he worked hard for them every day,Showing his love for them in that way.Bill is survived by one grandchild, Heather and great-granchild Ava, wife Janet of 50 years, children, Hunter, Valli, Mitch.Though he wasn,'t wealthy, they made him feel proud and rich.Surviving sister Nancy and brother Terry, spouse Roni, held special places in his heart,In his life played an important part.Roni and Terry extend an invitation,To come to their home and join Bill,'s celebration.If you will, we know it would please Bill.Special thanks to family and friends who were so supportive of Bill, who visited and called.Duane, Mel, Bud, Jack, Ona.
