Marcella Merrill and Mary Ann Merrill's Obituary
Marcie Merrill, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on April 27, having lived almost 101 years! She was born in Wisconsin, became an elementary school teacher, married Earnest Merrill, and was blessed with three children, Dan, Mary, and Dave. Marcie and Ernie lived in Panama and around the U.S. before eventually settling in Lakewood. Marcie taught second grade at Lakeview Elementary for about 15 years. She and Mary were long time members of St. Francis Cabrini Parish. Marcie had an infectious laugh, loved dancing, playing bridge, and traveling the world. Here favorite color was pink. Marcie was predeceased by her husband, Ernie, and her daughter, Mary, and is survived by her sons, Dan (Ann) and Dave (Wendy), her grandchildren, Jay (Anne) and Lissa (Matt) McCann, and three great–grandchildren. Special thanks for her care to Ruby and Larry.
Mary Ann Merrill passed away on January 12, from breast cancer at the age of 67. Before graduating from the University of Portland, she spent a memorable year in Salzburg, Austria. She became a foreign language teacher, then a dental hygienist in the Tacoma and Olympia areas. She and Marcie often traveled together. After her diagnosis Mary moved to Sequim, WA to be near family and friends who helped care for her.
