Marcella (Marsala) Funk
Marcella (Marsala) Funk, born on October 3, 1926 in Trieste, Italy, passed away peacefully at Patriots Landing, an assisted living community in DuPont, Washington, on November 29, 2011. Marcella was a volunteer at Madigan Army Medical Center, loving mother, and devoted Army wife of over 55 years to the late Donald E. Funk, Sr. Left to cherish her memory are sons Donald E., Jr. (Kyong) and Ronald L. (Gale), three grandchildren, Scott, Alyssa, and Gerhardt, and sister-in-law Erika, as well as a host of many friends and family. She will be always and forever in our hearts. One of 5 children born to the late Domenico Marsala and Emilia (Bauiguini) Marsala, Marcella was a kind, caring and giving person; words cannot adequately express a life so richly lived. She will be dearly missed.
