MARALYN L JOHNSTON
Maralyn Lina Laiti Thomas Strickland Johnston, 89, of Seattle, passed away April 11, 2015. Daughter of Albert C. Laiti and Ruth Blackburn, Maralyn was born in Seattle September 24, 1925. From working in the shipyard in Long Beach, CA during WWII, to retiring in 1988 as Vice President at US Bank, she had a long and full life. She will be remembered for her love of life and family, strong work ethic, and out-going personality. In retirement, she made many friends in and outside of Madison Park. Special thanks to you all for enriching her life. Maralyn is survived by daughter Nancy Josué, granddaughters Kimberly Josué (Steve) and Adrienne Josué; sister Roberta O’Day (Tom); sister-in-law Sally Laiti; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are the daughters of her late husband, Robert Johnston; Randi Cattarin (Mark) and Gail Johnston Park (Dave); grandchildren Ben Engle and Rebecca Bulanhagui; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ed Laiti, and son-in-law Allan Josué. In her last months, Va Uluiviti lovingly cared for her. At Maralyn’s insistence, there will be no services. Memorial gifts may be given to the charity of your choice.
