Manuela P. Perez's Obituary
Manuela P. Perez, born December 25, 1916 in Kingsville, Tx, “Meme” fell asleep peacefully on May 25,2013, in the loving hands of her Lord and Savior after journeying through 96 years of life. We know in our hearts, her heart must have been content as she reunited with her Heavenly Father.
Meme was a devoted Catholic and faithful parishioner at St. Joseph’s, a homemaker, and a loving childcare provider for many years. She was an avid bingo player, seamstress, and “Wela” to many, including Tera, Cori, and CJ.
Meme left Kingsville in 2007 (at the age of 90) and moved to Washington to live with Kathy and Mark Quintanilla and family. She liked Washington, but boy did she miss south Texas with all her heart. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Meme is survived by two daughters and two sons, Maria Rosario (Jesus Jr.) Martinez, Onalaska WA; Rene (Rose) Perez, Anaheim, CA; Rolando (Rosa) Perez, Corpus Christi, TX; and Anna Perez, Steilacoom, WA. Other survivors include numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, Romelia/Greg Berg family and dear family friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymundo C. Perez, and sons and daughter, Oscar Garcia; Raymundo Perez; Ricardo Perez; and Maria Rita Perez. And a special mention to Louie, Aurelia, Sharon, and Tanya whom she loved dearly and whom were never forgotten over the years.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Lakewood, Washington and Kingsville, Texas. Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
