Manuel "Manny" Iyulores' Obituary
Manuel "Manny" Iyulores passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and loved ones, on September 3, 2023. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Manny was born on September 20, 1945 in Iloilo City, Philippines to Pepito and Loreto Iyulores.. Manny was a talented carpenter, avid gardener, great cook, good singer, and wonderful dancer. He loved golf although he was not very good at it, hitting the trees more than the fairway! This always made his sons and grandsons laugh. He had a great sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a smile that would light up the room. He delighted in being his children and grandchildren's biggest fan at their athletic, academic, and talent events After 28 years of service with Pierce Transit, Manny retired in July 2014, spending his retirement days traveling and seeing the world with his wife, family, and friends. He traveled to the Philippines often to visit his family, high school friends, and "brods". Manny was one of 13 who completed the rigorous UPROTC Advance Course in 1966. Thus, he became part of the U.P. Vanguard fraternity and developed lifelong friendships with "brods" and former sponsors. This was his Vanguard '66 family. He was a founding member of the Filipino American Youth Organization and active member of the Filipino Community Alliance. He loved life. From a young age, he was inspired by the poem INVICTUS, which concludes: I AM THE MASTER OF MY FATE; I AM THE CAPTAIN OF MY SOUL. Manny followed this credo and did it "his way" until the end. Manny is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Herma; his children Hermanne (Angie) Iyulores, April (Brian) Shrader, Jennifer (Pouth) Iyulores-Ing, Manny June (Janice) Iyulores; his grandchildren Alyssa, Dylan, Drew, Ysabel, R.J., Isaiah, Gabe, and Alex; his siblings Pepito Iyulores Jr., Loreto Iyulores, Sampaguita Velez, Independencia Chavez, Pepito (Hermie) Iyulores III, Jose Buste (Shirley) Iyulores. He is preceded in death by his father, Pepito Iyulores Sr.; mother, Loreto Iyulores; sister Adoracion Reyes; brother Artemio Iyulores; grandson Emmanuel Iyulores.
