Manuel C. Ovena's Obituary
Manuel passed away peacefully Feb. 11, 2005 in Tacoma, WA. He was preceded in death by son Rex Ovena in 1997. Manuel is survived by his loving wife Ciony; children Letty, Victor, Luz, Lea, Leita, Manuel Jr., and Lynda; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sister Goring Pinlac and her family.Manuel was born June 15, 1920 in Cebu, Philippines. He was US Army Â- Retired, veteran of WWII and Korean War, and former WWII POW.Manuel was deeply devoted to his wife and family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.The family gives special thanks to doctors, nurses and staff of the Veteran Administration, St. Joseph Hosp, and Franciscan Hospice House.Viewing is from 3:00 PM Â- 9:00 PM, Monday and Tuesday at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Tacoma, WA. Funeral Services will be Feb. 16 at St. John Bosco Church, 10508 112th St. SW, (253) 582-1028, beginning 9:30 AM for viewing; 10:30 AM for Rosary; 11:00 AM for Funeral Mass; 12:00 Noon for church reception; and 1:30 PM for Burial Site service at Mountain View Funeral Home. Reception will follow burial.
