Malissa Lea Stewart's Obituary
Malissa Lea Stewart, 65, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2024 from a cardiac arrest. Although she left this earth much too early her gentle spirit and loving heart left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
Malissa had little family but a community of friends who loved her. She loved her 14 year old shit tzu Jasmine who is now with one of her close friends.
Malissa was born and lived her early life around Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Highland High School in Thornton in 1977 and maintained many of her childhood friends until her death. After moving to Missoula, Montana for a few years, her family settled in Seattle, Washington where her parents, Paul and Betty Stewart, passed away and are interred.
Malissa spent her career in housekeeping.
In early 2024 Malissa moved to Puyallup, Washington to be near friends and her support system.
Malissa’s Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 18 at 2:00pm. The location will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Tacoma, Washington. Participants at the celebration will be asked to share any memories they have of Malissa or to lead in prayers. This will be followed by a reception and at 3:30pm the urn will be placed a few yards from the chapel and reception hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Sunny Sky’s Animal Rescue (www.sunnyskysshelter.org) in Malissa’s name are appreciated.
