Malia Janai Greenhouse's Obituary
During the sunrise of July 24th, 2000, God blessed us the beautiful soul Malia Janai Greenhouse. She was full of life and excitement. Just like everyone she, feared the unknown. Her fears lead her to be brave, overcome obstacles which gave her the confidence to try new adventures. From the time she fought through her fear of riding a bike, to learning how to swim, she always pushed through.
She took one of her biggest adventures at 16 when she got her first job at Wendy’s. She was so excited to tell everyone and couldn’t stop smiling. Yeah, we heard her complaints but also heard her problem solve and asked for guidance. In Malia’s senior year of high school, she got the opportunity to play softball after transitioning from the team assistant. Malia received a varsity letter as a result of her hard work and dedication.
When she graduated in June of 2018 she joined the workforce. She progressed through every role she was assigned. When she was a pizza delivery driver, she quickly became a shift lead. As a night security guard, she loved being able to sleep in. She worked hard as a medical scheduler to receive promotions and became a supervisor at 21! She held this position but wanted more.
March of 2023, she enrolled at Tacoma Community College to pursue an Associate of Applied Science in Business degree. She received the honor of being on the dean's list for multiple quarters. At the same time, she transitioned to a new position at Optum and moved to Seattle.
While navigating through all these Journeys, she was always there for her family and friends. She would go above and beyond to put a smile on their faces. If you called, she would do everything in her power to help.
Even though her journey was short, she allowed us to go through them building memories with her; building memories that will live in our hearts forever. Some good, some bad. Nonetheless, this was the light she shared with us that filled our hearts. We wrote our memories and will continue to write them in her honor.
On October 19th, 2024, Malia received her guardian angel wings. She joins her (Papa) Robert Lillico, (Momma) Judy Simes, Uncles Paul, Tyrone, Carlos Joseph, brother Noah Stanford, Cousin Rhylie Walker, and her beloved pets (Lady Bell, Tank, Spike, Raven, and Shotsi). Along with other family members to watch over us.
