Mal Sun Rodefer's Obituary
Mal Sun Rodefer, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on August 28th, 2019 at 3:28pm after a year long battle with lung cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Jerome; her children, Vivian and Jerry Jr; her son-in-law, Kyoung No; her grandchildren Jahena, JaeSun, and Trinity.
Mal Sun, "Meja", was born February 27th, 1942 in Busan, South Korea. She married her husband on February 19th, 1971 just 3 short months after they met at Camp Casey in Korea. They had their daughter in June of 1973. They had their son in September of 1980. Though she worked jobs outside the home, she kept a perfect house, made all the favorite meals, and was present for every event for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved to travel. She volunteered at many church events and even became Deaconess at Tacoma Christian Reformed Church.
A memorial service will be held September 6th at Tacoma Christian Reformed Church located at 9424 S Yakima Ave, Tacoma, WA 98444. Contact family for more details. Due to the daughter's deadly allergies, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to family to help with costs. Thank you for your consideration.
