Maggie Walker's Obituary
Maggie Walker, 74 of Tacoma, passed away January 1, 2018. She died peacefully in her sleep after a battle with breast cancer.
Maggie was born July 31, 1943 in Birmingham Alabama. Her parents Milton Pace and Susan Barnett Pace named her Lloyd LaVan, but her family and friends called her Maggie.
Maggie and her husband Raymond raised 5 children and one grandchild. She worked as a secretary for the state of Oregon for several years. She a attended college and studied social work but did not complete the last few credits she needed to graduate.
Maggie enjoy traveling and taking her grandchildren on trips when they graduated high school. She has been to England,Ireland Scotland, and Egypt among other places.
Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Victor and Shirley Pace, her husband Raymond, son Raymond Walker Junior, and daughter Rebecca Etherington. she is survived by brothers Ernest (Pete) Pace of California, Larry Pace of Washington, sisters Naomi Smith of Texas, Jackie Hardenbrook of Nebraska, her daughters Ramona Walker of Tacoma Washington, Rolaunda Walker of Silverton Oregon, Rosharn Walker of Las Vegas Nevada. Maggie had 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Maggie‘s family will celebrate her life at Mountain View funeral home in the Mount Rainier Chapel January 15, 2018 at 2 PM. Flowers are welcome and donations can be made in her name to the Southern Poverty Law Center, or to a charity of your choice. Remembrances can be shared at www.mountainviewtacoma.com
