Magdalena Cathcart's Obituary
Magdalena, in keeping with her usual grace, passed peacefully, knowing she was much loved by her family and many friends, including the wonderful staff of King’s Manor, in Tacoma, Washington.
Born to Franz Xavier Humplemeier and Maria Magdelena in Schwaigermoos, Germany. She met George, her husband, who was stationed in Erding, Germany, in 1951. As the wife of a career Air Force soldier, she became a proud U.S. citizen. They settled in Tacoma, in 1966, upon retiring from the military.
Magdalena spent 20 years as an Estee lauder consultant at Frederick & Nelson, Lakewood, WA. In their beloved motorhome, they crisscrossed the U.S.A. They traveled to many countries including visits to family in Germany.
Volunteerism provided much pleasure, especially dear to their hearts was American Lake VA Hospital, Trout Unlimited and Stream Team.
Magdalena is survived by her three children, Gottfried “Butch”, Sandra (Tim), Susan (Heinz) and 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and 2 great, great, granddaughters. Sister-in-law, Ottilie Humplmaier, many nieces and nephews in Germany and Pennsylvania.
Magdalena (Mom) would wish everyone to proudly display the American flag, know your neighbors, exhibit kindness, and send a card to a special person, often.
