Madonna Fisher's Obituary
Born 9/23/1929 in Elwood Indiana to Fontella Garmin and Harry Leroy Poynter. Married to Arthur C. Fisher (deceased), on November 19th, 1957 in Elwood Indiana.
Mom was a humble, sweet woman who tried to get along with everyone. As a child of the depression she never wanted to cause anyone any trouble and we were told that quite often! As a young girl she was crazy about horses and at 5’2” was dwarfed by them. We often talked fondly about those days.
Mom loved her family so much and tried to always be there for everyone. She spent most of her life in Indiana but moved to Washington State in 2013, where we had many new adventures! She loved to go to different restaurants, musicals, and doll up for the Downton Abbey Teas at the Meeker Mansion in Puyallup, with her daughter Sally and many good friends. She looked forward to her sister Sharon calling her every Saturday night – as she had promised when she left Indiana. With Sherry on the line – Mom did not have to do much talking, but she loved just listening to her adventures back in Indiana!
Her health was precarious after breaking a hip in 2014, but her sweet disposition never faltered and was obvious to all until her death. We are so grateful for the loving care she received from her caretakers at Sunny Meadows and Carters Place till the end. We especially appreciated the kindness and love that Darcel, Carrie, Heather, Patrick and Lori gave to Mom. After moving to Washington, she became a Seahawks fan and spent many Sunday’s hanging out with best friend Darlene, other residents and her caregivers cheering on her favorite team!

We will miss this sweet lady so very much, but we know her pain is gone, and she is in a happier place now. Mom will be interred at date not yet decided with her late husband, Arthur in Columbia City In. May she rest in peace.
