M. Louise Lennstrom's Obituary
Louise Lennstrom, 72, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital on Tuesday, March 4th, 2008. Louise was born in Redding, CA on July 9th, 1935 to Cody and Frances Stamps. She came to Tacoma with her mother at the end of WWII. Louise attended Stadium High School. After graduating in 1952, she began her banking career at the Bank of California on Pacific Ave in Tacoma. In 1968 she married Jimmie Lennstrom and gave birth to her daughter, Laurie Frances. Her son David James was born in 1975. Her banking career continued at various local institutions, eventually retiring from Seattle First Bank where she worked as a drive-up teller in the downtown Puyallup branch for almost 20 years. As a child, her mother sparked her interest in music with piano lessons which turned into a life-long passion. Louise was well known for her impromptu "honky-tonk" piano concerts. She was also a member of the Tacoma chapter of the Sweet Adelines. As a bass in the chorus, she attended many competitions throughout the NW. Louise was a "people person" and formed many close friendships over the years.Louise is survived by her husband Jimmie, and son David of Puyallup, her daughter Laurie and granddaughters Christie and Kimberly Clifton, of Chandler, AZ, and her brother, Dr. Eugene Curnow and wife Glenora of Portland OR. She also has numerous other family members in CA, OR, and WA.
