Lynn H. Royston's Obituary
Lynn Hubert Royston, 82, passed away November 7th, 2025, in Tacoma, WA. He was born in Oklahoma City on September 21st, 1943, to Hubert Warren Royston and Eugenia C. Royston. Those who knew Lynn remember him for his welcoming smile, his service to the communities he lived in, the churches he was a part of, and his presence (with camera in hand) capturing the experiences and milestones of the family and grandchildren he loved deeply.
Lynn grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with a degree in Economics. Lynn then served as 1st. Lt. in the U.S. Army from July, 1967 - June, 1969. He began his 32-year career with PPG where he served as a Senior Human Resources Executive with extensive domestic and international positions. After retiring and moving to West Linn, OR, in 2001 Lynn served as a Strategic Human Resources Advisor to several businesses in Portland, Oregon.
Lynn was an active member of Bower Hill Community Church (Pittsburgh, PA), Emmanuel Presbyterian Church (West Linn, OR), and University Place Presbyterian Church (University Place, WA). At UPPC he was a member of the local mission team, refugee resettlement team, and an advisor to Families Unlimited Network (F.U.N.). He also captured events, service projects, and musical productions at UPPC with his exceptional photography skills.
Despite many health complications since the early 2000’s, he remained as engaged as possible. A source of love and presence to his six grandchildren, he used his camera to record many of their events--wrestling matches, football games, soccer matches, track meets, high school graduations, and band and church choir performances.
Lynn is survived by his wife Fran, and his children, Matt( wife, Holly) Royston and Marty (husband, Dean) Kelly, grandchildren Kellyn, Andrew, Hannah Royston and Maya, Addy, and Teya Kelly.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, November 30th, at University Place Presbyterian Church.
