Lyle Udean Estenson's Obituary
Lyle Udean Estenson, a quiet force of craftsmanship and kindness, passed away peacefully in Lakewood, Washington on September 13, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born in Clear Lake, South Dakota on February 26, 1935, Lyle grew up with the steady hands and steady heart that would define his life. He served his country with pride and precision as a Crew Chief in the United States Air Force, keeping aircraft mission-ready with the kind of quiet excellence that never sought applause.
After retiring from the military, Lyle turned his attention to building—homes, friendships, and community. A skilled carpenter and handyman, he could fix anything with a hammer and a humble smile. He helped design and run a local coffee shop, where the scent of fresh brew mingled with the warmth of his presence. Whether it was a neighbor’s broken fence or a grandchild’s school project, Lyle showed up with tools in hand and time to give.
He bowled with joy, built with purpose, and lived with integrity. Soft-spoken but never absent, Lyle was the kind of man who let his work speak louder than his words.
He is survived by his daughter Debora Harper; grandchildren Ken Estenson, Justin Harper, and Tahra Harper. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joan and daughter Brenda, whom he now joins in rest.
Lyle’s legacy lives on in every beam he raised, every life he touched, and every quiet moment of strength he gave to those around him.
